How To Do It
When it comes to installing a push button ignition on your car, the process is relatively straightforward. All you need are the correct tools and a few simple steps.
1. Start by removing the Old Ignition
The first step is to remove the old ignition. This can be done by unscrewing the screws that hold it in place or by prying it off with a screwdriver. Once it’s removed, you’ll need to clean everything off before installing your new one.
2. Prepare The New Ignition
Next, you’ll need to prepare the new ignition. This includes cleaning off the surface of the button and prepping the metal contacts for installation. Make sure that the pins on the new ignition are oriented correctly; otherwise, you may experience problems when trying to install it.
3. Install The New Ignition
Once everything is ready, installation is simple: just insert the pins into the corresponding holes on the car’s body and screw it in place. Be sure to tighten the screws properly so that there are no wobbles or creaks in the future.
Tips for Installation
There are a few things you’ll need for installation: an ignition key, a new push button switch, and a 12-volt battery.
1. Insert the ignition key into the switch. The red light on the switch should turn on.
2. Connect the black wire from the switch to the negative battery terminal, and connect the white wire to the positive battery terminal.
3. Put the cover back onto the switch and secure it with screws.
4. Install the new push button switch in place of the old one. The red light on the new switch should turn off when it’s connected properly.
5. Install the cover onto the switch and secure with screws.
