When you’re out and about with your little one in the car, you want everything to be as safe as possible. That includes the seat itself, which should be secure and unharmed. But what if you can’t get the canopy off? This is a common problem for parents of young children, and it can be frustrating when all the tried-and-true methods don’t work. Gather Components
If you want to take your Graco car seat off, there are a few different methods you can use. Some people use the LATCH system, others use the belt. Here’s how to do it using each method:
LATCH System: To remove your Graco car seat using the LATCH system, first make sure the safety belt is properly fastened around your child. Next, press down on both of the latches on either side of the car seat until they release. The car seat will now easily come off of the base. Make sure to keep hold of the safety belt as you remove it!
Belt: To remove your Graco car seat using the belt, first unclip and adjust the shoulder strap. Then reach across your child’s body and pull up on the buckle end of the safety belt. The car seat should now easily come off of the base.
