Unbuckle the car seat
car seats are designed to be very secure, but sometimes it can be hard to get them in and out of the car. Here are five tips for unbuckling a car seat:
1. Try the Latch System First
The latch system is usually easier to use than the belt system. Find the lever that holds the seat in place, and pull it towards you until the seat release button pops up. Push the button to release the seat, then pull it away from the car.
2. Use Your Arms
If your car has armrests, use them to help you unbuckle the seat. If not, try using your hands and knees. Keep your back straight and lift one leg at a time so you don’t drag the seat with you.
3. Get The Seat Out From Behind The Car
If your car has a front-wheel drive layout, try pulling down on one side of the seat while pushing up on the other side to get it out from behind the car. If your car has an automatic transmission, try turning off the ignition and then pulling down on one side of the seat while pushing up on another side to free it.
In either case, be careful not to pull on any wires or hoses connected to theseat…or you might end up with a mess on your hands!

Remove the cushion
If you’re looking to remove your car seat cushion, it’s a bit more involved than just popping it out. Here are four steps:
1. Locate the release buckle on the side or bottom of the seat. This is usually a silver or gray buckle, and will look something like this:
2. Hold onto the buckle with one hand and use your other hand to unlatch the seat from its base. Be careful not to pinch your fingers in between the base and the seat cushion:
3. Gently pull the seat away from the base, being sure not to lose any of its clips or buckles. If it’s difficult to get the seat off, try using a hairdryer or heat gun to help melt away any glue that holds it on:

Remove the straps
If you have a convertible car seat that has straps to secure it in place, remove them before using the seat. Car seats with buckles or clips should be unstrapped from the base and the shoulder straps should be loosened. The lap belt should then be snugged around your child’s waist but not so tight as to cut off their circulation. The shoulder belt should then be placed over their shoulder and pulled tight. Finally, the buckle on the front of the seat should be clicked into place.

To reattach the straps, first make sure that the buckles are facing outwards. Next, thread one strap through each buckle. Now pull on the straps until they are tight.
