How to Assemble a Graco Car Seat
For most parents, the prospect of disassembling their car seat is something akin to tearing apart a toy. But in reality, it’s not that difficult to take down your Graco car seat and get it back into its original components.
To start, remove the cup holder by unscrewing it from the base. Then unclip the two side straps and pull them away from the seat. Finally, release the four latches on the base and lift it off of the car seat frame.
Once the base is removed, you’ll see four screws that hold the bracket to the frame. Remove these screws and set them aside for later.
Now is also a good time to release any tethers or clips that may be attached to the padding or fabric of the car seat. If there are no such attachments, you can simply slide off the excess fabric and padding.
Finally, remove any extra hardware or connectors that were attached to either side of the headrest (if applicable). You’ll be left with just the headrest itself and your car seat belt!
Tips for Safe Disassembly and Reassembly
Disassembly and reassembly of a Graco car seat are straightforward and can be done without any tools. Follow these tips to ensure a safe and easy process:
1. Remove the buckles and straps first, then unclip the base from the vehicle.
2. Lift the cushion off of the base.
3. Remove the cover from the cushion.
4. Unbuckle and remove each shoulder strap from the cushion, then remove each side panel from the cushion.
5. Unclip and remove each leg strap from the base, then remove each COVER PAD from the cushion (2 per side).
