Uninstall the current car seat

If you are looking to uninstall your current car seat, Graco has a few simple instructions to follow:

1. Remove the car seat from the vehicle.

2. Unfasten all of the straps.

3. Pull the car seat away from the vehicle and fold it down.

4. Fasten the straps in a loop, making sure that they are tight against the body of the car seat and not against each other.

Remove the old car seat

How to install Graco car seat in a new vehicle:
1. Open the door of the car and remove the old car seat.
2. Check that the car has a head restraint system and/or a booster seat insert, if needed. If not, you can purchase one separately or use one of the Graco accessories available such as the SnugRide 30-Inch Booster Seat (sold separately).
3. Install the base of the Graco car seat in either direction using theprovided screws. Be sure to tighten them securely after installation.
4. Reinstall the child safety belt by threading it through both shoulder straps and buckling them tightly against your body.
5. Place the Graco car seat in front of you on top of the child’s regular carrier or behind you on top of a booster seat, if applicable (the shoulder straps should not be tightened at this point). The child should face forward in their regular seating position with their feet hanging over either side of the vehicle’s edge (they can dangle down towards floor level if desired).
6. Close and lock all three doors. Your new Graco car seat is now installed and ready for your little one!

Install the Graco car seat

Installing a Graco car seat is not difficult, but it does involve removing the front passenger seat and attaching the car seat to the bracket that is already in place. Make sure you have the correct tools before beginning! The following are the tools you’ll need:
-Two Phillips head screwsdriver
-Slot screwdriver
-Wrench with 1⁄2-in. (13mm) socket
-Piece of cardboard or plastic to protect your flooring
If your car has carpeted floors, cover them with a piece of cardboard or plastic before beginning.
1. Start by removing the front passenger seat. To do this, remove the four Phillips head screws that hold it in place and then pull it forward.
2. Next, remove the two side brackets that attach the seat to the car. Carefully pull these off so you don’t damage them.
3. Now it’s time to install the new car seat. Position it so that the rear of the seat is facing down towards the floor and insert one of the side brackets into one of the holes on top of the seatback. Push it until it latches into place. Repeat this process for the other side bracket.
4. Next, position both side brackets so that they form an X over where they were previously attached to the seatback (see diagram). Insert one slot screwdriver into each slot on top of each side bracket and tighten using a wrench with 1

Secure the straps

Secure the straps:
1. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for adjusting the straps of your car seat.
2. Make sure that the shoulder and crotch straps are tight enough to keep your child in the seat, but not so tight that they hurt your child’s skin.
3. Positioning the car seat correctly is key to ensuring a safe trip. To ensure a safe installation, follow these tips:
-Fit the car seat into your vehicle with the front facing down. This will help prevent injuries if there is an accident.
-Make sure that both legs of the CAR SEAT are inserted through the vehicle’s door opening before closing it. The weight of your child should be evenly distributed on both sides of the CAR SEAT in order to distribute crash forces and keep them safer in case of an accident
4. Finally, make sure you lock all four LATCH connectors (two on each side) when you install or remove your car seat from your vehicle

Connect the harnesses

Step 1: Locate your Graco car seat base and attach the three harness straps to the base.

Step 2: Pull the shoulder straps over your child’s shoulders and loop them around their back. Make sure the chest clip is positioned near their neck.

Step 3: Pull the waist strap over your child’s waist and adjust it to fit snugly. The strap should be positioned below their bellybutton.

Step 4: Connect the crotch strap, then overlap it so that it crosses in front of your child’s chest. Fasten this buckle with a quick release button.

Reconnect the LATCH connectors

If your Graco car seat has been removed from your vehicle, reconnect the LATCH connectors to the car seat and secure it to the vehicle using the straps. If your car does not have LATCH, you can use a tether strap to connect the car seat to the vehicle.

Test fit the car seat

4. With the car seat reclined, use one hand to guide the headrest into position and then snap it into place using a quick release button or lever on each side of the headrest. Repeat with the other side to ensure a snug fit for your child’s head and neck.

5. If you have a compatible Graco clip-on bassinet, insert it into either side of your car seat using the quick release clips provided (the bassinet should not weigh more than 10 pounds). If you do not have a compatible bassinet, skip this step and continue to step 6 below.”
