When you’re ready to take your little one out for a walk in the city, you might want to consider taking them in a Britax car seat. After all, these seats are known for their safety features. But what if you need to take the car seat out of the city select stroller? Don’t worry, this process is actually quite easy. In this blog post, we’ll show you how to remove a Britax car seat from a city select stroller.
Remove the Britax Car Seat from Your City Select Stroller
The Britax Car Seat has been a mainstay in the city select stroller lineup for years. But is it time to say goodbye?
Britax makes some great car seats, but there are better options out there if you’re looking for a car seat that can be used in a variety of different types of strollers. Here’s how to remove the Britax from your city select stroller:
1) Open the canopy and unfold the stroller.
2) Remove the Britax from its base. It should snap into place on one side or the other. If not, use a screwdriver to pry it loose.
3) Close the canopy and fold up the stroller.
Align the Britax Car Seat in the Rear-facing Position
To safely remove a Britax car seat from a city select stroller, first make sure the car seat is in the rear-facing position. To do this, use the straps to tighten the car seat around the child’s torso and then pull up on the handlebar until it clicks into place. If your city select stroller doesn’t have a handlebar release, you can also use one of the straps to lock onto the stroller frame and then pull up. Next, unhook one of the side straps and lift up on both handles at once until they release. Then carefully remove the baby from the car seat. If there is an infant insert, be sure to remove it before removing the baby from the car seat.

Removing a Britax car seat from a City Select Stroller is a breeze. First, loosen the securing straps on the base of the car seat. Then, pull up on the car seat handle to remove it from the stroller. It’s easy to store your Britax car seat in its included storage bag when you’re not using it.
Install the Base of the Britax Car Seat onto the Base of the City Select Stroller
Step 1: Flip your city select stroller upside down.
Step 2: Remove the four screws that hold the car seat base to the frame of the stroller.
Step 3: Lift up the car seat base and pull it out of the frame of the stroller.
Step 4: Put the new car seat base onto the frame of the stroller, making sure that all of the screws are replaced and that it is correctly seated. Replace the four screws that hold it in place.
Your city select stroller is now ready for use with your new car seat!
Tighten the Belt Loops
If your Britax car seat is installed in a city select stroller, you may find that the belt loops are too tight to remove. To tighten the belt loops, first make sure that the seat is in the stroller correctly. Then use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the two screws on either side of the buckle. Once these screws are loose, use your fingers to pull up on the belt loops and tighten them against the fabric of the stroller.
Replace and/or Tighten any Parts that May Have Been Loosened during Installation or Removal
If you have removed the Britax car seat from your city select stroller, it is important to replace and/or tighten any parts that may have been loosened during installation or removal. This will help ensure a secure connection between car seat and stroller.
To replace the part, remove the four screws that hold the bracket in place. Then, remove the bracket by pulling it away from the car seat. Be sure to mark which screw goes where before removing it so you can put it back in the same position correctly when re-installing the car seat.
To tighten the part, first re-attach the bracket using the screws that were marked earlier. Next, use a wrench to tighten each of the four screws until they are snug. Finally, re-attach the car seat bracket to the stroller using the four screws that were originally installed

If you’re ever in a bind and need to remove your Britax car seat from your City Select Stroller, here’s a quick guide on how to do it.
To start, unbuckle both the shoulder straps and the waist strap. Be careful not to pull on the fabric as you do this – you may cause damage. Then flip the car seat over so that the bottom is facing up.
Next, use a flat object like a knife or a credit card to pry up one of the side clips (in the back). This will allow you to pull the car seat out from the stroller. If there’s another clip holding it in, use your knife or card to break it before pulling out the car seat.
Lastly, remove any additional clips by gently pushing down on them with your fingers and then pulling them outwards.
