How to Remove Jack From a Car
When you get a jack to lift a car, make sure the jack is level and plumb. When jacking up the car, use the weight of the car to help stabilize it. If the jacking device has a handle, hold onto it.
If possible, remove any obstructions from under the car. Mark the spot you’ll be lifting with masking tape or painter’s tape. Place one end of the jack under the mark and raise it until it is at least an inch above the ground. Drive a screw into the ground nearby to provide stability.
With one hand on the screw, use your other hand to grasp one of the hooks on the jack. With a smooth motion, pull up on the hook until it is clear of the car. Keep hold of both hooks when you release them, as they can easily fall back into place.
