How To Remove Maxi-cosi Zelia Car Seat From Base

When it comes to car seats, many parents are understandably hesitant to remove them from their vehicles. After all, who wants to get their hands dirty? Well, there is an easier way—and it’s actually the safest way. You can use a car seat removal toolkit like the Maxi-Cosi Zelia. This kit makes removing car seats a breeze, and it’s even safe for little ones. Plus, it’s a great way to keep your vehicle tidy and free of car seat clutter. So why not give it a try? It’s definitely easier than trying to remove a car seat with your bare hands—even if you do end up getting a few fingerprints on the fabric.

Remove the Belt

Maxi-Cosi Zelia car seats are designed to be easily removable from their bases. This is a great feature if you need to move the car seat around frequently or if you have a smaller vehicle. The following steps will show you how to remove the Maxi-Cosi Zelia car seat from its base:

1. Locate the dual locking clips located on either side of the car seat. Push down on both clips until they release, then pull up on the car seat.

2. If there is any Velcro attached to the car seat, pull it away from the base and let it fall off. Be sure to discard any leftover Velcro if needed.

3. Lift up on the car seat and position it over the base. Insert one end of the belt into one of the belt loops located on either side of the base, then tighten it using the adjustable buckle. Positioning and tightening of the belt loop should ensure that it’s secure against movement. Repeat this process with the other end of the belt, attaching it to another belt loop on opposite side of base.

4. If there are no belt loops available, use a piece of sturdy twine or cord to tie each end of the belt in a knot near one end so that it doesn’t hang loose (this is optional). You can now safely store your Maxi-Cosi Zelia car seat away from its base!

Remove and Disconnect the Clip

If you have a Maxi-Cosi Zelia car seat and you want to remove it from the base, follow these steps:

1. Remove the three screws that hold the base on to your car.

2. Lift off the base.

3. Move the recline lever to the “reclined” position and pull out the recline handle.

4. Unbuckle both connectors at the back of the seat and lift it out of the base.

Remove the Cover

If you have a Maxi-Cosi Zelia car seat, there is a chance that you might need to remove the cover in order to install the car seat in your vehicle. The cover is made from a soft and stretchy fabric and can be difficult to remove. There are several ways to remove the cover, but the easiest way is to use a seam ripper.

To remove the cover on a Zelia car seat:

1. Locate the seam where the cover and base of the car seat meet.

2. Use a seam ripper to cut along the seamline. Be careful not to cut through any of the fabric inside of the car seat! Once you’ve cut through the seam, pull on the sides of the cover until it separates from the base of the car seat.

Remove the Base

When your Maxi-Cosi Zelia Car Seat is time to retire, removing the base is a breeze! Simply depress the release button located on the back of the car seat and it will detach from the vehicle. There is no need to remove screws or pinch points – just pull it free. Once detached, neatly fold and store the base in its included carrying case.

Wash

If your car doesn’t have a front seat belt anchor, you can use the Maxi-Cosi Zelia’s built-in safety tether to secure the car seat to the base. Locate and unlatch the safety tether. Pull the car seat away from the base. Remove any padding or fabric that may be obscuring the mounting hardware. Insert and tighten screws provided in kit. Reattach safety tether if necessary.
