Tools You’ll Need
To remove the power steering pressure hose you’ll need a few simple tools:
-Pipe wrench or breaker bar
-Socket set
-Flat head screwdriver
-Ruler or a straight edge
-Tape measure
-Jumper cables (optional)
1. Start by locating the power steering fluid reservoir. It’s typically located between the front driver and passenger seats, or on the passenger side of the engine block. If you can’t find it, the reservoir may be under the car. Once you locate it, use your socket set to remove the four bolts that hold it in place.
2. Once the pressure hose is free, gently pull it out of the housing. Make sure to avoid pinch points and kinks as you go; these areas will cause leaks.
3. Next, use your pipe wrench or breaker bar to loosen the clamp that holds the power steering pump in place. It’s usually located above and to the left of the pump itself. Once loosened, gently pull the pump out of its housing and set it aside.

If you find that the power steering pressure hose is starting to leak, you can easily remove it without having to break the bank or risk damaging your car. Follow these simple steps:
1. Park your car on a level surface.
2. Loosen the bolts that hold the power steering pressure hose in place with a wrench. Be sure to use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts after they have been loosened.
3. Disconnect the power steering line from the pump by pulling it straight out of the reservoir.
4. Remove the old power steering pressure hose by cutting it off at the base with a hacksaw or bolt cutter. Make sure to wear safety goggles and gloves when doing this as cuts can be very sharp.
5. Install the new power steering pressure hose by driving it into the pump until it snaps into place. Torque the screws that hold it in place, and be sure to tighten them once they are in place. Reattach the power steering line to the pump and enjoy smooth, responsive steering!

2. Remove the air intake cover by gently pressing in towards the firewall and pulling upward.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

6.Remove the old pressure hose by pulling it off of the pump and rotating it 90 degrees counterclockwise.
7. Install the new pressure hose by hand-tightening its connector onto the pump and rotating it clockwise until it is secure.
8. Replace the power steering reservoir cover and screws, connect the negative battery cable, and re-install air intake cover.
