How To Start Car If Ignition Switch Broke

In today’s society, we rely on our cars to get us from point A to point B. But what if something goes wrong with your car? In this blog post, we will explore how to start your car if the ignition switch has broken. Whether you’re stranded on the side of the road or just need to move your car for a short period of time, following these simple steps will get you moving in the right direction.

If your ignition switch has broken, you’ll need to replace it before you can start your car. Here’s how to do it:

1. Park your car in a secure spot.
2. Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition.
3. Disconnect the battery cables.
4. Remove the front bumper cover (Figure A).
5. Disconnect the two air bag modules (Figure B).
6. Remove the two spark plugs (Figure C) and tow cable (if equipped).
7. Remove the ignition coil pack (Figure D).
8. Remove the ignition switch housing (Figure E), retaining screws and springs as needed, then pull off the switch assembly (Figure F).
9. Clean all surfaces that came in contact with the switch assembly, including pins, springs, mating surfaces, and any other loose or detachable parts ( Figure G ). Reinstall all screws and springs into their original positions, then install the switch assembly onto the housing by pressing it into place until it snaps into place ( Figure H ). Reconnect all cables and torque to specifications as noted in Step 8 . Replace front bumper cover and air bag modules

What to do if you can’t start your car

If you can’t start your car, there are a few things you can do. If the battery is dead, try charging it up using the charger that came with the car. If that doesn’t work, try starting the car using the key in the ignition. If that still doesn’t work, try another key. If none of these methods work, then your car may have to be towed.

How to fix a broken car key

If you’ve lost your car key, there are a few things you can do to try and fix the problem. If the key is just stuck in the ignition, you can try gently wiggling it until it comes out. If that doesn’t work, you may need to use a key remover or a screwdriver to pry up on the key from the ignition switch. Once you have the key free, either put it back in the ignition or take it to a nearby car dealership and have them program a new key into your vehicle.
