To unlatch the car seat, first make sure it’s in the correct position

To unlatch the car seat, first make sure it’s in the correct position. For infants, place the infant in the rear-facing position with their back against your chest and their head pointing forward. Graco recommends that children remain in this position until they reach 40 pounds or are at least 8 years old. For children older than 8 years old, place them in the front-facing position and adjust the straps to fit snugly around their torso. To latch the car seat into place, pull up on each side of the belt until it snaps into place.
