As parents, it’s obviously our goal to provide our children with the best possible upbringing. And one of the most important pieces of that puzzle is ensuring they are safe when travelling in a car. Luckily, thanks to the advent of car seats, this task has become much easier. In this blog post, we will show you how to use Graco car seat with base and make travelling in a car a lot more comfortable for your little one.
How to install a Graco car seat base
Graco car seat bases are the perfect addition to any vehicle. They provide stability and a secure fit for your child, while providing easy installation. This guide will walk you through the installation process of a Graco car seat base.
To start, make sure your vehicle is in good condition and all safety devices are working correctly. Remove the front passenger’s seat and remove the airbag. Next, locate the clip that holds the base onto the cushion of your seat. Pry off this clip with a flathead screwdriver head and set it aside.
Next, find two more clips on either side of the base and pry them off with a flathead screwdriver head as well. You’ll now be able to detach the base from your cushion.
In order to install the base on your own cushion, first spray some lubricant onto it. Place the new base on top of lubricated cushion and press down evenly until secure. Make sure there are no gaps between the cushion and base, or your child could fall out during transport! Reattach clips if needed and you’re ready to go!

Tips for using the Graco car seat base
If you’re using a Graco car seat with a base, here are some tips to help make the installation process easier:
1. Be sure to check the manufacturer’s instructions to make sure that your car’s rear-view mirror will accommodate the base.
2. Position the car seat base in front of or behind the rear-view mirror, according to the instructions provided by Graco.
3. Align the child restraint straps so that they cross over each other in the middle of the child’s back. Buckle them tightly and make sure that they’re positioned below the child’s shoulders and above their hips.
4. Place the arms of the Safety 1st SnugRide 3500 Base Carrier securely around your child’s waist and upper thighs, making sure that their elbows are bent at a 90-degree angle. The shoulder strap should rest snugly against their lower back.
