What is a Brake Flush

Brake flushes are a regular maintenance procedure that should be carried out on your car’s braking system. By doing this, you’ll help to keep your brakes in good working order and avoid any potential problems down the road.

What is a Brake Flush?

A brake flush is a service that can be performed on your car’s brakes to keep them in good condition. Brake flushes are typically recommended every 3 to 5 years, and can help prevent brake wear and improve braking performance.

What Causes a Brake Flush?

Brake flushes occur when brake fluid accumulates inside the brake system. This can happen when the brakes are not used, when they’re not maintained, or when they’re contaminated with debris. If the fluid accumulates to a level where it can’t be absorbed by the brakes, it will cause a brake flush.

How to Perform a Brake Flush

If your brake is not working properly, it may be time for a brake flush. A brake flush is a common maintenance procedure that helps keep your brakes working smoothly. Here’s how to do it:

Remove the brake pads and calipers from the Wheels. Clean the calipers with a solvent and a soft cloth. Dry the calipers thoroughly. Apply new brake pads and install the calipers on the Wheel. Align the pins in the caliper with the holes in the Wheel. Push down on the Caliper until it clicks into place. Tighten the knob on the Caliper Mounting Arm to 16 Nm (12 ft lbs). Position Vehicle on a Level surface and secure with jack or stands. Perform following steps: Remove Brake Fluid Reservoir Cap Screws. Remove Brake Fluid Reservoir . Unscrew Hoses from Reservoir Connectors . Disconnect Brake Line from Reservoir . Use a Non-Skid Platter Pad to Protect Floor When Removing Reservoir From Wheel . Remove Reservoir From Wheel . Bleed Brakes As Required By Manufacturer . Replace Reservoir On Wheel and Secure With Cap Screws . Install Brake Line Hoses on Reservoir Connectors and reconnect.

What are the Benefits of a Brake Flush?

A brake flush is a simple and effective way to keep your brakes working optimally. By flushing the brake fluid through the system, you can remove any build-up that may be causing the brakes to stop working properly. This is an important step to take if you notice any signs of wear or if your brakes feel spongy or otherwise notchy. A brake flush can also help to prolong the life of your brakes by preventing corrosion and dust buildup.
