What To Do After Claying Your Car

A lot of people don’t realize that they need to clay their car every two years in order to keep it looking new. If you wait too long, the paint will start to peel and the finish will start to ware off. However, there are a few things you can do in order to keep your car looking its best even after it has been clayed.

Prepping Your Car for the Clay Treatment

A great way to clean your car before the clay treatment is to use a car detailing kit. This will include a clay bar, bucket, and microfiber cloth. You can also use a clay cleaner and water mixture, or a club membership to get your car clean. After you have prepared your car, follow the steps below to Clay Your Car:

1. Apply a light coat of clay cleaner to the Clay Bar. Work the Clay Bar over the entire surface of the vehicle. Let it sit for about five minutes, then buff off with a microfiber cloth. Repeat this process until all dirt and dust are removed.

2. Wet the microfiber cloth with water and wring it out completely. Gently clean the Clay Bar and buff it until it shines. Make sure to inspect all areas of the car for any dirt or dust that may have missed during step 1.

3. Finally, dry off the Clay Bar with a towel and apply a final coat of clay cleaner to finish the job. Leave the Clay Bar on for about five minutes, then buff it off with a microfiber cloth again.

Applying the Clay Treatment

Claying your car may seem like a daunting task, but with the right tools and instructions, it’s a simple process that can make your car look and smell great. Follow these steps to apply the clay treatment:

1) Remove all of the debris from your car with a vacuum cleaner. This includes dirt, dust, leaves, and other pieces of plant life.
2) Pour a pot of cold water into the trunk area of your car. This will help cool down the clay.
3) Sprinkle baking soda over the entire surface of your car. The baking soda will act as a degreaser, removing any oils or waxes that may be on your car.
4) Sprinkle enough clay onto the surface of your car to cover it evenly. Make sure to apply clay in a circular pattern to avoid water spots.
5) Allow the clay to sit on your car for at least two hours, or overnight if possible.
6) Scrub off the excess clay using a stiff brush or sponge. Be sure to clean all surfaces of your car!

Rinsing and Wiping Down Your Car

There are a few things you can do to clean your car after claying. Rinsing and wiping down the exterior is essential for removing any clay residue and contaminants. You can also use a Clay Cleaner to help remove all traces of clay from the surface. Finally, use a Carpet Protector to protect the floor mats from any residual clay.

Drying Your Car

If you have just clayed your car, the first thing you should do is wait for it to dry. This can take anywhere from a few hours to a day or two, so be patient. Once it’s dry, you can start cleaning it. Here are a few tips to help get started:

-Wipe down all the surfaces with a clean cloth or towel.
-Use a vacuum cleaner with the hose attachment to clean any dirt and debris off the floors and carpets.
-Use a pressure washer to clean any stubborn dirt and residue off of the exterior of the car.
-Brush off any dust or debris that has collected on the headlights, taillights, and other exposed parts of the car.

Protecting Your Car From Weather Damage

If you live in a region that experiences heavy rainfall, snow, or ice, it’s important to protect your car from weather damage. Here are a few tips to keep your car safe:

1. Use a protective coating on the outside of your car. This will help prevent water, snow, and ice from damaging your paint and bodywork. Some popular coatings include clearcoat, wax, and sealant.

2. Install rain gutters on the roof of your car. These will allow water to flow away from the car without soaking inside.

3. Cover the windows with plastic storm windows if you live in a region with heavy rains or snowstorms. This will help protect the glass from breaking and the interior of the car from becoming wet.

4. Install an anti-freeze system in your car. This will help keep the interior of your vehicle cold in cold weather conditions.
